Braces & Invisalign

Do you have crooked teeth but always avoided orthodontics because of the brackets and wires? Do you have problems with your bite but addressing them seems like too big of an undertaking? Maybe your job involves speaking to clients and you don’t want a mouth full of braces to be a distraction even though you would really like to improve your smile. If any of this sounds familiar, Invisalign could be a great option for you.

Whether you have issues with aesthetics or function, at Amana Dental, we offer Invisalign as a convenient orthodontic service to our patients.

Invisalign is an orthodontic system that revolutionized the way we move teeth. Invisalign addresses all of the same common problems dentists address through traditional orthodontics but without the brackets and wires.

Invisalign utilizes clear plastic covers that gradually align your teeth and are virtually invisible. Because you can remove them to eat and clean your teeth, you are able to maintain a higher level of dental hygiene than with traditional braces. You can brush and floss normally.

Regular dental visits will help us to determine how frequently to change your teeth aligners, but changing them about every two weeks is common. Each aligner is a bit different, moving your teeth gradually toward the ideal position for your health and appearance. Dr. Gomez will monitor your progress closely, keeping you up to date on your treatment.

The length of your treatment depends on how much your teeth need to move. After an initial evaluation, we will be able to give you a better estimate of your treatment time. It is important to keep in mind that everyone is different and treatment times can change or vary greatly from one person to the next.

In most cases, Invisalign can treat all of the same conditions as traditional orthodontics, including underbite, overbite, crossbite, crowding, gaps, and occlusal (bite) issues.

Some complex cases may be better suited for traditional orthodontics. If that is the case, we can refer you to one of our trusted partners.

Preventative Dentistry and Follow-Up Exams

Keeping your regularly scheduled follow-up exams is essential to completing your treatment in a timely fashion. At your follow-up appointments, our highly skilled dentist will examine your progress and help you stay on your schedule of trading out your aligners.

Maintaining your gum health with proper hygiene and professional cleaning appointments is also essential to your oral health.
